Richard is a 30-year veteran of the global energy markets. Richard leads Delta Energy Capital, an investment and advisory business focused on the energy Transition. He holds Board positions at Nanook Energy Funds, a leading gas and power hedge fund; Infinis Energy Holdings, a renewable power developer and operator and FutureBiogas, a developer and operator of green gas plants. Previously, he held senior trading, origination and investment roles at RWE, Barclays and before that Enron Europe. In his career, he has developed, operated, bought and sold power stations of most fuel types, notably the Lynemouth power station in the UK, which converted from coal to be fueled 100% by wood pellets. In overseeing RWE’s global biomass business, he gained important experience in woody biomass supply chains, especially in the US. At Barclays, he started and grew one of the largest carbon credit trading businesses in the world. More broadly he brings at-the-coal-face knowledge of investment management, contract structuring and market and credit risk management.
Richard is a qualified accountant and holds a BSc in Chemistry from Bristol University.
